I have added another of my poems, again from this summer. There is something peculiar about warmth that spurs thought...Perhaps the ability to observe without having the body concerned with keeping warm. Anyways, I'm just thinking out loud. Take a look.
You attend to sound even more keenly in this piece, it seems to me. I'm intrigued by the use of animal instinct as a counterpoint to the speaker's sense (or imperatives).

you're definitely right on about sound. I utilized it to elevate the animal reference, to juxtapose the sterile, self-righteous, world around me (broken up with dashes and commas) with those who experience the grit and wonder of it, albeit using the unconventional reference to less than majestic animals.
